My husb. & I paid for all of our eldest daughter's 5 yr. college & when she wanted to become an exchg. student to Japan, we paid for airfare, housing, tuition, books, etc. for that endeavor. She has since graduated from San Jose State Univ. with honors, (we paid for 100% of her college, books, etc.) She continues to work at the temp. job she held down while attending college, but now works 40 hrs. a week. When I went into my bank where I do my sole proprietorship business banking, the bank manager inquired about my eldest child & asked where she is working since she had graduated over a year ago. When I shared with her the situation she stated that B of A had the best International Banking program around. She shared with me that B of A wouldn't take a person into their Int'l dept without any banking experience. With that, she offered to 'create a position' just for our daughter & speed her thru a special training program that she would create, so that our daughter would be easily selected by Bank of America after a year's training by her. The bank mgr. knew that our daughter's degree was in International Business with a minor in Japanese. The bank mgr. then stated that B of A had the best International Banking program. I was elated & went home to share the great news with my husb., who then was also elated. When I shared this "great news' to my daughter, her only replyt was, "Well, I dunno know." I was speachless! I immediately went to share what had transpired with my husb. and he was also in shock. That was over a wk. ago. What should we do? She is also driving my husb. car and he is taking the bus to work, which takes him twice as long to get to work, as he doesn't want her to have to walk or take a bus. I think we've created a monster child/adult. What to do you think? Any suggestions of how to rectify this situation? BTW, we have two other children (one who is in his 3rd yr. of college & another child in her first year of college. Thx. for any constructive suggestions.

have you studied psychology? There's a period of childhood development called "oppositional bonding." Its around 2 or 3, when children love to say "no." Doesn't matter what you say to them, or how you try to reason with them. "No." Most liberals are cognitive children and just react with a "no" against their parents/authority figures. How do I test a coaxial connection to see if it's "active"?

I'm not sure how to even ask this. When my basement was finished coaxial cable was run from various outlet boxes in each room to a central spot in the basement. At this central location few of the cables are terminated with a connector. I can handle putting connectors on, but I'm wondering if there is a way to test each cable to see which room it runs to. I was thinking I could disconnect one of the connections where the satellite comes in (and heads upstairs) and test each unknown cable with this connection. Trouble is, I don't want to lug a receiver and tv in to each room to test the connection just to be able to say "ok, this cable goes to room A." Is there any kind of tester that I could connect to each outlet that will indicate that there's something going on at the other end of the cable or not?

I'm in the same boat. My boyfriends friends think there is something awfully wrong with me because I'm not as loud or talkative as they are. Ugh yeah there's nothing wrong i'm just incredibly shy! People who aren't shy can rarely understand what it's like to be afraid of saying the wrong thing or looking dumb. What I recommend is just putting it aside and try talking more. It'll take a few tries to get it right. Maybe the first day you just say a bit more to them, then the next time you see them you say even more. Gradually you will become friends with them and it won't be as hard to open up. Ask them questions that will break the ice: How is school going? How's work? Do you like working there?....etc etc the ball starts rolling and eventually a conversation is started! Good Luck!

What is this electric buzzing in my head?

For about a year now I have had this constant 24/7/365 days a year electric buzzing noise at one side of my head. It kinda sounds like a electric lead that has part of it cut off and its sparkling like crazy which is at the frequency of a rice crispie crackling. When I clinch my jaw the intensity of the noise spikes...this is also the case for when I push down on certain points of my head....the noise tends to go over all over noise which kind of doesnt mask it one bit...I have also experienced hearing loss and some sounds i cannot hear such as someone snoring from a distance or some radio sounds being 'crackled'.. this all started when my ear filled clogged up and i had a deep low-vibrational BOOM in my hear that has seemed to change....This is all in my RIGHT EAR. In my left ear I hear music with chord progressions being constantly changed...in my right ear i hear three sounds altogether....the electric buzzing sound, a very high pitched squeel (like nails bein dragged down chalkboard) any ideas on what this is?

I feel so sorry for Upstate New Yorkers. All the fat cats in Manhattan make all the rules for a place they don't even live in. I know some people who live in Northern NY in the Adirondack Park. it's only been close to two months and i've already had a breakdown. Chem. is so hard and my teachers terrible i studied for three hours for a test and got a 62. Also, im in french 3 which is also really hard. ive never done well in french but this year i feel like im bombing everything. In the beginning of the year, i had a too stressful schedule which left me one hour a day for homework/studying/eating/showering. i just quit one activity so im a lot more free to study better but im still nervous. Im afraid i'll fail my regents and have to repeat the year. ive cried so much this year due to stress and already missed two days (once i was sick and one day i was hysterically crying to my mom about how i couldnt handle the stress) teachers expect so much like your their only cl. my french teacher gives well up to an hour of hw each night and will give us 2 quizzes and a test all in one week. trig is sooo hard ive always done bad in math but im really trying to maintain a ping grade which i have all these years. my mom thinks its all my fault im doing bad and i dont study enough but i study whenever i can i just avent had enough time till now. also im stressing over the sats because on my psat i only got a 540 on verbal and 430 on math and 460 on reading and i was hoping to do better. if i do bad one quarter (70's 80's, couple of 90's) but improve a lot 2nd 3rd and 4th, what will colleges think? Why do I sweat so much now?

Lately I have started to sweat more. Well not so much sweat as...I just smell like sweat. I don't feel wetness or have sweat stains but about mid-day I start to smell like I have been sweating a lot. I am thin and 19 and I sit in an office all day. It is always freezing in there and most of the time I am chilly. I never feel hot or really do a lot of manuel labor. I just don't understand why all of the sudden I have this oder. I use a deoderant and spray perfume....which only mask the smell. I am also allergic to most anti-persperants. I am one of those people who will not go without showering and won't wear even the same jeans twice without washing them. Since you AREN'T CAPTURING the clips, then you go directly to the EDIT feature and cliick on the pic of the digital camera, not the movie camera picture. Then on the drop down menu, find the folder where your clips are and you will have to highlight the clip andonce you see it, drag it to the timeline. You have to do each clip separately. Once all of your clips are in the timeline, then you can add titles and transitions. you aren't downloading or capturing, you are adding each clip.

Paper Lanterns for Wedding?

We used 30 paper lanterns at my daughters wedding. They cast a nice, soft glow and were wonderful to look at. Nice idea!!!!! One thing we did was to stagger the length each was hung so it didn't look too uniform. It had a nice effect.

Should I use screen capture software or video camera?

I want to make short videos that capture what I'm doing onscreen to demonstrate how to use different sofware programs like Open Office, etc. I've not only watched a ton of these types of videos on YouTube, but I've tried out Camtasia and several other full trial version screen capture programs that people have recommended. In my opinion, the quality of the videos made from these screen capture programs sux donkeys. I can barely even read any of the text in these videos. Does anyone know if it might work better to buy one of the high def video cams, set it on a tripod in front of my computer screen and record the screen action that way? Has anyone reading this done this or heard of anyone that has done this? To reiterate, the videos I've seen made with the screen capture programs is horrible quality.

There was no malicious intent. I felt my job was in jeopardy and secretly taped my co-workers. I never told anyone about them but someone found them. Never been in trouble before. It really does depend where you're moving to. We do say "y'all". you'll probably pick it up too. its just convenient. I'm from Houston, and we're mostly urban people who think and talk about driving and parking all day long. The whole city is very business driven. Truthfully, almost everyone is conservative, and the more rural you get, the more that's true. Austin is a different place altogether. They have bumper stickers that say "keep austin weird". Its the live music capitol of the nation I think, and has lots of hippies (the college students contribute). Its a fun place. UT is in Austin, and they are crazy about their school, but not as crazy as A&M. Which brings me to college station. Umm, Everyone is obsessed with the school. Its like a cult. Everyone all over the state picks a side, UT or A&M. I'm from Houston and I don't get it. Anyway, they are the most "Texas-y" people. San Antonio has a little more of the Mexican side of Texas, which is true of most of the south. The rural areas have more genuine cowboys with cows and horses and boots. So basically, you'll meet a mix of rednecks, preppy, white, black, hispanic (much more than up north), depending where you go. Southern Hospitality is real, and if you go into convenient stores or anywhere people will be very kind and inviting. Boys will hold doors open for girls and so on. (Less true in the bigger cities).

My Engine is making weird clunking noises what could it be?

This morning I wanted to run my car to get it warmed up. So I lodged a broom in there to keep the gas pushed down and finished getting ready to leave. I came back about 20 min later and it was making a weird clanging noise. Video encoder help!!?

I have been making videos with adobe premier, then compiling, then using Windows Media encoder to reduce the size and make them better quality for youtube. Here is my issue. I have pictures for opening slides then it goes into the recorded video. At first windows media encoder would convert it to WMF fine and I had no issues. But here lately, the encoder keeps cutting out any picture or opening slide and goes straight to encoding video. The compiled version of the video shows the slides and audio as it should be but the encoder skips it anyways. I have tried 5 different types of encoders and the only encoders that "would" leave the slides in as it should be, were the encoders that couldnt adjust screen resolution or improve quality. Im stuck. I dont know if its in premier or the encoders. Helps me please.

Sprint charged me over $600.00 with out my permission.?

i recently paid my cell phone bill with my debit card for $200.00, i have 3 phone lines, one for work, personal and one for my wife. a few days after paying my bill, I receive a call from my bank saying that i have an overdraft of 200 dollars, they bank employee went over my charges with me online and it showed that sprint charged be 200 dollars twice and the next day, they charged me 289 dollars, I called sprint and they said it was my banks fault and that i need to take it up with my bank. I called the bank back the bank put me on 3 way in the phone, the bank was on mute and was recording the conversation, after litteraly 5 hours and being transfered to 12 sprint reps, sprint finnaly admited that it was there fault and they would ONLY pay the over draft fee. As for the other money that was mistakenly taken out by them from my checking account with out my verbal permission or written permission, they would not refund it. I then was told that I could file an investigation woth Sprint corporate, but unfortunatly i would have to call back the next day, I was pissed. This spring I tried ski boarding, and the only problem that I had was that every time I hit the bottom or section of a slope that was flat I stopped. I waxed my skis and that didn't help very much at all. There was mostly corn snow, ice and mushy snow where I was, so that may be a factor. My hollister jeans won't stay up even with a belt?

I have this really cute pair of hollister laguna skinny jeans. They are dark wash and I usually pair them up with some chestnut uggs which I tuck the jeans into. They're skintight, at least, but then they feel like there sliding down as the day goes on. Male birth control, the "Vasclip"?

No vasectomy is a good vasectomy because a man can develop PVPS (chronic pain in the testes). You can read about it in my first three sources. As far as the Vasclip being a less bad vasectomy...maybe that is true for the male, but it doesn't really work that well...it's unreliable which is the main reason men resort to vasectomy in the first place. (You can read about a vasclip study in my fourth source.)They want reliable birth control. The "pros" about the vasclip is that studies have shown it results in less scarring and adhesions of the tissues in the spermatic cord (the vas defernes, the muscles, veins, etc.) This results in easier reversal, if it is sought. But there are cons. You'd think they could just take the clips off and you'd be fertile again...not neccessarily. It's found that if the clips are left on for some time (over 5 wks which is just long enough to make you sterile in the first place), then just taking them off doesn't restore fertility. The ends must be resectioned and reconnected just as in any reversal. Also, in these studies, at the time of attempted reversal, many clips were found to have fallen off. And like I said earlier, the clips aren't as reliable. You have to have double clips on each side, then most of the time, it will work. I've heard of men who have had the vasclip. Many of them claim to have irritation at the vasectomy site. IMO, you'd be better off not having a vasectomy at all.

We had a stainless steel frying pan with a thick bottom. The bottom became warped, but we continued to use the pan. While cooking with it, the pan emitted irritating fumes that caused us to cough. Okay...so. I was at my district elementary school's fundraising carnival last weekend volunteering. A lot of the other teenagers in my neighborhood work there, so I usually see the same group every year. The house is a 60's bungalow with a large ventilated underfloor space with above-ground air bricks on all sides. Can we put a vertical flue up through the loft space, and if so what would it be like? Let me first explain, that I got my computer during a time when I was very depressed with my life and wasn't thinking clearly. Consequently, I didn't take good care of my computer along with other things in my life. For a couple years I stopped using the computer and had it locked in a closet. I need to start using it again but because of how bad I treated it in the past it goes really slow. I saw that the windows back up utility takes up a lot of information. Can I remove it? I do the best I can to live my life by Christian principles...as I understand them...and I also accept at least some of the beliefs and practices of such things that we refer to as "withcraft" as being perfectly valid. Let's face it, there is a certain "woo-woo" element to Christianity, especially when we are condering the possibility of miracles and other unexplainable events. Some people want to dismiss all of that stuff as unproveable hocus-pocus, etc., and what we know to be true is that there are a lot of phonies, con people and hypocrites to be found in such areas as organized religions, witchcraft practices and a lot of other parts of life. im subing in my team as a sniper. got a backup tan m4. so far, i got my tricolor acus (ripoff acus that are tricolor), booniehat, boots, mesh camo blanket (found in in the grland in socal. its like a mesh laundry bag, only bigger and painted 6color/chocolatechip. it works but its not the best), sniper (desert camouflage custom), bipod, scope, camelback (tricolor), radio, ALICE backpack (6color mesh bag covering it so it is desert camouflage), a light tactical harness that i can take off and put on in a hurry, kneepads, 3 m4 mags (midcap), 1000 spare rounds, 1 mre, collapsable shovel, kbar, 3 extra canteens, rubberbands, and an olive drab bdu jacket in case i need to hide in some vegitation. the terrain is almost total arid. one patch of thick cacti exist (solid od jacket). very strange land. flat desert with 20ft cannals (steep) cut into it. it opens up and drops 40ft (after a quarter mile in) and has a huge area with hills and lots of caves an cravaces. ive played there many times, and i have worked as a spotter for my friend and i know what to do. i know their avanues of approach (kinda). any tips from some experianced airsoft snipers?

The USAF does not have "air police", they are called Security Forces. I just had to clear all that up before I got to your question. Yes, the military experience can help. While some experience you gain working in military law enforcement (discipline, weapon retention, defensive tactics, etc.) will carry over, you will learn a lot of new stuff going through a city/county/state academy. Florida offers an equivalency of training program, which is a two week 'mini-academy' that goes over the refreshers and will then test and certify you. It accepts military LE experience, other states do not. Some LE agencies require at least an ociates, but then again some agencies will accept military service in lieu of education. All branches have the same pay scale.

Just an update for those waiting for refund checks via mail?

A little about me: Head of household, 1 dependent, wages only, no itemized deductions. I e-filed my taxes through H&R Block online on 01/28/11. They were accepted on 01/29/11. Chose to have a check mailed to my house. When checking the WMR site after 72 hours, it simply stated they were still being processed. After that, the only message I had was that my refund would be mailed on 2/8/2011. It never changed once. I received my refund check today 2/11/11. I live in upstate New York. The city my check was mailed from was Philly, PA. So, it took 3 days to receive.
