How do I get an SBA loan for my shop?

I would like to open up a breakfast/sandwich shop near a courthouse which has nothing in the area as far as competition goes. I think it's a great location and concept! I've got years of experience working in and managing restaurants, so that's the "easy" part. I just don't know how to go about starting it, financially speaking. What are the steps involved? What should I do and what should I avoid? What kind of credit and startup capital do I need? I am in California. Thanks!!
