I have video files which play only in 3w player. Can anyone help me convert it so i can play it on any player?

I either need a converter or some tweak which'll help me view files on WMP or iTunes or possibly my portable mp3 player. The extension still reads .avi so its not like its in some other format. When i play it in WMP or iTunes, it gives me this msg "This file can be played only in 3w player. Download it free". Plz help. Thanks.
