How do I use the "create postcard" feature on my samsung glyde?

On my glyde, if I open the options tab after I select a photo, there is a on that says create postcard. i clicked on it and it tells me to take photo. So did, and it merged my selected photo and the new photo together by turning the new photo into a negative background. I'm just not sure I understand why....
