I need to no what to do .. I have these big azz bald spots on each side of my head?

so i had to cut my hair into a fade and the rest of my hair is fine but my sides wont grow and i've tried errythang i mean somebody help my hair been like this for the last 2 years and my haircuts be messed up cause my sides wont grow what can i do
