Courthouse wedding/ bigger wedding... need help?

My fiance and i have been engaged for a while.. we originally planned on getting married on the 4th of july 2010 we have resently desided that it would be more financially responcable to get married before the end of the year so we can count our income on my fasfa for school to save money on student loans. We still wish to have a wedding and reception on the 4th of july 2010. Would this be ok if we changed the vows on the 4th of july? Or is it still too tacky? Should we just have a party on the 4th?... The reason i ask is because i have already bought my dress but don't want to wear it at the court house. I want to wear it on the 4th but think it would be weird to wear it at a party w/no wedding beforehand.
